ELSIE & THE PENTECOSTALS and TELEVANGELIST

Tired of Jim Bakker's deception game? Write your Senator, Representative, or IRS office!

Feel free to copy, paste, and print this letter, then mail it off to your Senator, Representative, or local IRS office. Even your local newspaper might be interested. Maybe your letter will be the one that sends Jim Bakker back to prison where he belongs!

Subject:
Televangelist Jim Bakker exploiting tax rules for religious organizations

Dear Senator / Congressman [insert name here]

I am respectfully petitioning you to investigate what I believe is blatant exploitation of our tax code at the expense of the American public. Televangelist Jim Bakker, the so-called pastor who went to prison in the 1980s for tax fraud, is back on television again, and nearly his entire show is devoted to selling products. All of his show discussion, or what may be construed as 'preaching', is used as a lead-in to product sales. Here is only a small sampling of what he sells:

Dehydrated Food = $3,000
Camera Desktop Ornament = $1,000
Silver Sol Miracle Ointment = $100
Hand-powered survival flashlights = $20

The list of products for sale goes on and on. Jim Bakker stokes fear in his audience by telling them that the world will soon be ending, staple foods are in short supply, and that their dollars will ultimately be worthless as currency. He then heavily pitches them his goods for sale and takes their so-called worthless money. His sham ministry, of course, receives a tax-exemption while engaging in this behavior.

I presume that he gets away with this by the simple fact that he refers to these items as 'Love Gifts' as opposed to 'Items For Sale'. This is wrong. Absolutely, without a doubt, it's wrong. These are not gifts, they are items being sold in a business transaction. Bakker, in fact, has a warehouse where he stocks these 'gifts' for distribution to 'donors'. Would a church dispensing only 'love gifts' require a distribution warehouse?

Jim Bakker now hosts an unaccredited college at his Morningside community which purports to train 'students' in the art of television ministry. He charges these 'students' between $7k - $8k per semester. He then uses these students as free, unpaid labor to operate his camera equipment and produce his show. The tuition? Paid for through 'scholarship funds' solicited from his audience.

Jim Bakker's ministry is registered in the name of his mother-in-law, and he reportedly makes only $400 per week in income. You and I both know that his declared income is a load of garbage, and that the only reason he takes such little payment is because he still owes millions of dollars to the American public. One need only look at the various vacation properties he frequents to understand that he is likely laundering money through various figureheads in his ministry in order to personally benefit from the ministry's income while avoiding payment of back taxes.

I am utterly dismayed by the fact that Jim Bakker gets away with this exploitation of our tax code by engaging in product sales through his tax-exempt ministry. While he may not be the only one, he is certainly the most public and the least delicate in his blatant disregard for our tax laws. With his fear-mongering and deception of the naive, he also flies in the face of basic human decency. It's said that there's a sucker born every minute; that doesn't mean it's right to take advantage of them.

A quick internet search for 'Jim Bakker Show fraud' will uncover the many different websites / discussion forums / YouTube videos which record and publicize Jim Bakker's shenanigans. They are highly trafficked and are visited by multitudes of other like-minded Americans who are completely fed up with Jim Bakker. Our shared disgust crosses political boundaries, as we are both male and female, religious and non-religious, Red, Blue and Independent. We are Americans first and foremost, and we are disgusted with people like Jim Bakker who rip people off in the name of religion.

Action taken against Jim Bakker will go a long way towards restoring faith in the elected official. Why? Because it is the right thing to do. There is no favor to be won, only the satisfaction of knowing that truth and decency triumphs over lies and impropriety. Truth, justice, and the American way is what defines us, not thieves and cheats like Jim Bakker.

As a human being and an American, I ask you to please investigate Jim Bakker. If he is found committing wrongdoing, hold him accountable (once again) for his lying and thievery. It will take little more than five minutes of viewing his show to understand why he is so very wrong, and possibly criminal, in his actions. His show (The Jim Bakker Show) is broadcast Monday through Friday at 7am on your local religious television station.

Thank you for your time.

If Rev. Bakker passed away today (God Forbid!!), I see Zach Drew, Nolan, and Mondo elevated to a more visible leadership position. Behind the scenes, Lori and Kevin would provide guidance. In other words: Consiglieres----Lori or Kevin, Capos---Zach and Nolan, and Capo de Regime -----Mondo, the rest would be soldiers.

Kelsey's right, the last show was a winner. More talking about the past than I've ever heard before, lots of fake choking up and "crying" (no tears), and Baby James sitting there looking a little awkward. Actually, I felt for James in those moments, his grandfather talking about those things, "crying" - I don't doubt the family paid a price - James didn't look (to me) like he knew quite what to say or do.

And it did seem like some of the things were a direct response to questions that have been asked here and elsewhere. He talked about his children, how Tammy Sue has not sung since Tammy Faye died, has not been to Morningside - and then he "prophesized" (his word) that Tammy Sue would come to M.S., would sing with the choir, and further would record with their new record label. And, he talked about his son, how people are against his son for how he loves everyone, the "drug kids" the "gay kids" - and how people just don't understand what the family went through.

I can see how people would be swayed by Bakker. But, lest we think he strayed too far from his roots, he did ask for lots of money to build the things people have already mentioned - the amphitheatre, finish the school, etc etc.

Thanks for your thoughts but you have not answered the most important question I believe. Who would be the face of Morningside in the event of Jim death?

Kelsey said...

Re: Pilgrim's Progress:

Are you kidding me?? Was PTL not a ministry and therefore not for profit?? If anyone made money, it was dirty. Bakker got caught with his dirty money and went to jail.

WILL SOMEONE AT MORNING SIDE PLEASE ANSWER THIS QUESTION:

Was Jim set up or did he rightfully go to jail and came out a repentant man? Which one is it????

Anon@919am,

Okay I guess you had to run away.

You see Zach Drew, Nolan, and Mondo elevated to a more visible leadership position? Do you understand that with the exception of Mondo (who scares the living crap out of the old folks) they are being brainwashed to work with youth. Bakker's following is elderly people so that doesn't work does it? Lori and Kevin would provide guidance? Guidance to a bunch of kids? They will not be babysitters because that is what that will amount to. Your line of thought is a morningside fail without the Frog.

Matt, thanks for posting! You are in a position to see and hear what we cannot because you are there when the camera is off. I'm really curious about what the people of Morningside and the students (and their parents) would answer to this question:

Do you believe that Pastor Jim was set-up/framed and was sent to prison and persecuted unjustly?

Or do you think he did some things that were not moral or illegal, served his time, repented and is a new man?

There's no right or wrong answer, I'm just curious what people there think. Purchasing property, moving, enrolling in school - it's all pretty life changing stuff. Since Pastor Jim is at the helm, you'd want to know what he thinks about the past.

Position to see??? People like Matt see what they are directed to see. If that "thing" they belong to is a cult as a lot of poster here suggest, they would not be in a position of giving a rational explanation unless they were a "plant" or a "Mole", "spy". Matt is on the inside looking in with nothing to contrast that with, there is no relationship with normalcy. That is if the place was truly a cult environment. All his answers would be biased toward Bakker. Even if Bakker were a demon, these members would see him as a hero. If the place was indeed a true cult. The only true answers from cult members come when they voluntarily leave.

We can do that. Right now. Through these comments on this blog.

There's lots of questions contained in the comments of this blog. Kelsey reviewed a couple. There is the long-standing Brother D. question (name one student who has gainful employment in the field of media). If you are interested in soliciting more questions, I would oblige, and I bet others would too.

The bottom line is: are you prepared to engage in that conversation?

Don't you worry about what Matt does. Matt's an adult, and Matt can engage in any discussion he feels like.

Matt, thank you for coming to my blog. Be very cautious of people who want to prevent you from listening or hearing from people with opposing views, as they typically only do so to protect their own self-interests. In your case, the people in the inner circles of the Bakker Cult have money, careers and/or property at stake if their house of cards comes crashing down.

Just who are the trolls here, anyways? Am I a troll? I am here in a recognizable fashion, time and time again. I blog with substance, and I comment with substance.

My blog posts uncovering and exposing Jim Bakker and Morningside are now large enough to fill a book. Not once have I received a comment challenging me on my views. Not once, Matt. Our commentators, people like Tanya and Kelsey and Brother Dortch and others, have asked plenty of questions. Those questions have still remained unanswered by the Jim Bakker cultists. You know why? Because there is no defense. There is no way for Bakker cultists to defend their idol, Jim Bakker, because he is indefensible.

And now, you arrive with what sounds like open ears, and an anonymous poster from the Bakker cult urges you not to speak with us ‘trolls’. So who is the troll here, us with names, or Mr/Mrs anonymous who is so very scared that you might engage us in conversation?

Let me go one further, Matt. I urge you, STRONGLY urge you, to read every single post of mine. Look past the lame jokes and see the points that I make. Read every single comment. Then, you decide what to think. You decide who the 'trolls' are. You decide just how honest Jim Bakker and his crew really are. Go for it, check it out. And you know what? Ask as many questions as you want while you’re reading. I, and we, have nothing to hide.

We who shine a light on Bakker's con have nothing to gain, Matt. Let me say that again: we have nothing to gain. We don't get paid to do this and we don't want your money or your time. All we want is for the truth about Jim Bakker and his henchman to be made abundantly clear to the world. That's it.
Ask yourself: If these people have nothing to gain, then why do they do this? Jim Bakker would have you think that we just like to gossip and spread rumors.

Doesn't that sound a little strange, Matt? Does it smell a little like bullshit? Well, that's because it is. It’s a complete lie. I have a real job, making real money and taking 40+ hours per week of my time. I have better things to do than gossip about Jim Bakker. And what’s better than gossiping about Jim Bakker? Exposing him.

Exposing him, and Lori, and all the other clowns you see up on stage pretending to cry and urging everyone to buy their garbage. I only want the truth told so that people like yourself don't go there and waste your time and money being hoodwinked. You should be in a real college, not a fake one.

Ron said...

By the way Matt, did you know that real colleges, the ones where your classes earn you points toward a real degree, can cost less than a thousand dollars per full-time semester (junior college)? How much does Master's Media, a fake college, cost per semester?
Whether you pay your tuition or not is besides the point. The tuition is being paid by someone, probably poor old Grandma Maxine who, as you can see, is completely suckered by Jim.

Morningside pulls in millions of dollars, Matt. Millions. Why does Morningside need that much money when, according to Jim, the world is ending very very soon? If the world is ending. why does the Pastor install a swimming pool and build an RV park at Morningside? Why does he say that hes 'grooming the next generation of television ministry' while also saying that everyone needs survival food NOW, as in, immediately? That doesn’t make sense.

The reason none of this makes sense, Matt, is because it's all lies. Fraud is what sent Pastor Bakker to prison for before, and this is nothing new for us who know who Jim Bakker is. It's new for you because you're too young to know about jailbird Jim Bakker. In a few years after you've left Morningside, you'll know. Believe me, you'll know very well, and you’ll likely be embarrassed. That’s okay though, you’re young and still learning. As long as you admit mistakes, you won't repeat them.

As I said, be very suspicious of people who try and tell you to close your ears and turn off your mind. They don't want to protect you, they want to protect themselves.

If you decide not to return and engage us in discussion, then I bid you good luck in the future. Years from now, when you have escaped the Morningside cult compound and put it behind you, remember what I told you here. Mark my words, and put me on record as stating it with 100% conviction: I am right.

According to Jessica Hahn she was drugged and raped by Jim Bakker and John Wesley Fletcher. She was paid hush money. Jim claims "he was set up". Again he was the victim. One has to wonder how Jessica's life would have been different if this had never happened to her?

We should be concerned for all sexual assault victims.

Matt this is one of those issues in life you need to settle on your own. A lot of the advise given on this site is worth considering, a lot is pure nonsense. As with Bakker, a lot what he has to say is wisdom, conversely, a lot is hype and filler. It is up to you to separate the "chaff from the wheat". I think a few of the posters here are sincere and really want to see what they view as justice done. Others are here out of jealousy and hate, you need to figure out which is which although it is pretty obvious to some. As with this site, so goes the Bakker show, some are there for some sort of "celebrity" status and personal gain, others are there out of conviction. It's up to you pal, it only up to you to approach the situation with eyes wide open and an almost "scientific" method of thought> Good Luck!!

"a lot what he has to say is wisdom"

Your remark is begging the question about the rest of what he says? Is it hog wash or truth? If you truly believed Bakker was a prophet you would have said "all of" instead of "a lot". I guess he's not a prophet in your eyes. I agree.

Kelsey said...

Matt:

With the exception of a few lewd comments, no one here is a troll. Everyone has a reason to have an opinion.

I have no problem with Jim Bakker selling things. Home shopping channels sell crap all day long, and often to people that can't afford it. I don't expect the netowrk to stop broadcasting because people buy things they don't need or buy too much.

It's the fear and misrepresented scripture Jim Bakker uses to do the selling that ticks me off. I watch the show and generally make comments based on his lack of Biblical knowledge. When you are bringing a message that brings fear and panic to people, you ought to have your doctrine straight. You ought to keep things in context. And always, always, always the most important thing a pastor can preach is salvation found in Jesus Christ alone. Jim Bakker fails so often and so hard at pointing to his Savior that I think people are being led astray, throwing dollar bills in the garbage along the way.

So often Jim preaches that God warned Noah to be prepared, and because Noah listened, it was credited to him as righteousness. Jim's message then becomes "if you don't prepare for the end times you'll starve and you dishonor God by not being ready." or "You won't be righteous unless you heed this warning that God is giving me about preparing for the end times.

Jim takes this Noah passage so out of context, and he does it every time he sells food buckets. Noah had faith in God's plan - what was to come. This Old Testament example teaches us that we are righteous by faith - in Jesus - the promise of what is to come. It's one of the many, many ways that the Old Testament is tied to the New.

Now doesn't that message sound a little bit more "normal" to you? God credits us with righteousness when we have faith in Him. Prepare all you want, God chooses when He calls you home. If you want to live out years of Revelation, hiding from Heaven and clinging to Earth, I guess go right ahead.

And by the way, God certainly doesn't need our money to keep His message on the air. He doesn't need our money to build an amphitheater. If he needs a platform for his prophets at the end of days, don't you think he could make it without Jim and Lori Bakker??

If there is an urgent message we absolutely need in order to survive, do you really think God would make it only available through the Jim and Lori Bakker Show?

You should be thinking on these things.

The Foodbucket is not, I repeat not a cult. Far from it. If you can substitute the Frogs name in the statement below when it mentions leadership then you get part of the picture of a cult.

"Cult leadership is feared. To disagree with leadership is the same as disagreeing with God. The cult leaders will claim to have direct authority from God to control almost all aspects of your life".

To Kool-Aid Kid, This is a cult for dumbskis, like you.

dumbskis....lol...is that the best you got! You Bakker supporters never disappoint.

Dumb is following a con. No, not an ex con but a present day con! Old game, new angle. Jim is still abusing the Word of God. Only mentally and morally deficit people can not figure that out! READ Jim's lips.....

Bakker renounced his past teaching on prosperity theology, saying it was wrong. He admitted the first time he read the bible all the way through was in prison, and that made him realize he had taken certain passages out of context - passages which he had used as "proof texts" to back up his prosperity teachings.

He wrote:

The more I studied the bible, however, I had to admit that the prosperity message did not line up with the tenor of Scripture. My heart was crushed to think I led so many astray. I was appalled that I could have been so wrong, and I was deeply grateful that God had not struck me dead as a false prophet.

Jim's own words condemn him, but the zombies defend him.

Jim is now taking Revelation teaching out of context and doing the same thing all over again. Jim falls into the category of repeat offenders and needs to be put behind bars again! Maybe this time God won't allow man to judge and will strike him dead for the false prophet he is! God is a forgiving God wishing that none should perish. It will be interesting to see what God does to bring to an end to all this evil!

To the ignorant person defending the rape of Jessica Hahn by Jim Bakker, shame on you! Defending your God Jim Bakker shows you are as immoral as he is. Since you are not schooled in the bible let me tell you there is a scripture about leading a little one astray, it won't go well for Jim on this account when Jim stands before God. And it won't go well for you either because you defend this man who is a pervert who perverts the gospel for money!

If Jessica Hahn was such a terrible person why was Jim Bakker having sex with her! What kind of judgement does that show he has?! What does that make your "pastor", a married man sleazing around and having sex with trailer trash, as you call her. I can't decide if I should laugh at you or pity you.

According to your definition of trailer trash then Jims current wife is more trailer trash then Jessica Hahn. Five abortions, count them Lori had 5 abortions! And she uses her gross sin to make a profit! She and her mother are hiding all the millions Jim is making from all you fools this time. Yes, they are fine upstanding woman also, lol! I didn't have a "christian" mom, but I knew enough to not marry an abusive, alcoholic, drug addicted man, and have five abortions!!! Lori didn't have enough common sense to stop before FIVE abortions!!!!! Seems to me Jim hasn't moved up in the world. By your definition he still likes promiscuous trailer trash who loves money, nice homes, and all the goodies a slimeball con man can get her.

Four points from watching that hilarious, but disturbing show of Bakkers':

1. I am close to age 60. I have been hearing from religious hucksters that the world is soon coming to an end immediately since I was about 10. So, that's a half of a century.

We were taught in school to hide under our desks if we saw bright flashes of light because those might be nukes from the Soviet Union. Hucksters said the world was coming to an end after the earthquake in the early 1900s in San Francisco; during the reign of Hitler and Japan's dictator; during the Cold War nuke standoff which lasted from the 1940s through 1980s. Oh, and I almost forgot. A lot of religious hucksters said the world was coming to an end when man first walked on the moon back in the late 1960s.

This is nothing new that Bakker is doing. Scare people. Create high drama and a sense of immediacy and urgency. Then, take their money and run.

2. I lived during the time of the Jim Jones cult and what I see on Bakkers' TV show is looking more and more like that all of the time.

3. Young people: get as far away from that place as you can. You are in a potentially dangerous place.
I say this out of concern for you.

4. Elmer Gantry. Look it up.

Anonymous said...

lol, at the stupid zombie. Jessica Hahn made up the rape story. Sure, that is why Jimbo paid her the hush money. Yep, we all do that when someone makes up stories about us, we pay them off to be quiet.

Jim is laughing all the way to the bank with your money zombie. Oh, that's right he has someone else do his dirty work for him as usual, so he doesn't go to the bank. I guess he laughs all the way to his lake home then, knowing that there are enough fools still left that will support him so he can live the high life again!

I don't get it. Why does this site demand answers to their questions from the Bakker Bunch? You're the ones on the defensive all the time, you're the ones are so affected by our mere existence keeping you awake at night. You should be the ones to do the answering. Why do you hate us so? What do you hope to accomplish with your persecution of us? Why do you feel so threatened with an opinion or life style that conflicts with yours? Do you really believe that you represent "truth" and "righteousness" and everyone should abandon their beliefs and jump on your confused bandwagon, and the world will be a better place for it? I don't get your motivation? Please explain? And leave ad hominem attacks out for a change, if that is possible. l

We are that dumb said...

So old Jim actually stated that he was tricked into sex with Jessica Hahn? That must have been a 2 phase trick. First someone tricked him into getting an erection then someone had to trick him into dipping his wick inside Jessica. Poor old Jim. Funny how he now uses trickery to get old folks to give him their money.

*Because I think a ministry like Jim's *LOSES* souls, bankrupts people, scares people needlessly, and perverts the Word of God. I think his kind of ministry helps give a platform to con men of the worst kind under the guise of religion.

Do you really believe that you represent "truth" and "righteousness" and everyone should abandon their beliefs and jump on your confused bandwagon, and the world will be a better place for it?
*Yes, I speak the best truth and righteousness I can, because I point to Jesus and the Bible and I ALWAYS encourage you to do the same. And yes, the world would be a better place if fewer people were funding Jim Bakker's Morningside and Master's Media.

Now - a question for you that I can't get answered. Is Bakker a repentant con man or was he framed?

There’s nothing at all ‘scientific’ about discovering what this blog is all about. It’s discerned by the spirit of the thing.

Dripping with sarcasm and in my best Jack Nicholson snarl: YOU WANT THE TRUTH? YOU PEOPLE CAN’T HANDLE THE TRUTH!

I’m going to address this crazy hodgepodge of internet losers once, and after that I refuse to fill my mind with their toxic waste. And the people I am really speaking to here, are the ones who read this toxic rubbish, because the ones who write it are quite frankly, beyond my reach.

This ‘blog’ is a group of people, perhaps 10 that are active and 15 total, that have come together under one ‘leader’ for the sole purpose of infecting others with the hate they themselves are consumed by for all things Jim Bakker. They will tell you that they do what they do to save others from Jim Bakker. Please. Who’s going to save them from YOU?

The blog trolls spend inordinate amounts of time trolling the internet, old news articles, the Jim Bakker website, all of his guests, suppliers, and ministry associate’s websites, for the sole purpose of ridiculing them for something… anything. When they find nothing to ridicule, they still come up with words like ‘creepy.’

They are masters at lying and twisting things they don’t understand and don’t have the capacity to understand. If some of them say they are Christians, I have to wonder why they think they are such good ones. No wise or born-again Christian will be found on a blog like this – for even the slightest measure of God within would witness against this kind of methodic and sustained judging, reviling, and ridiculing of anybody or anything.

The fact that they can quote Bible scriptures is explained by Satan himself knowing and quoting the Bible back to Jesus. They know the letter of the law, but they do not have the right spirit. Jim Bakker brings the name of Jesus to millions of people every day - he's just not up to YOUR standards. I guess God should have given YOU the voice.

As far as the unregenerate are concerned, there is absolutely no reason we would engage a conversation with them where a Christian would try to defend themselves against their hate. Why? Because it’s simply not within their capacity to comprehend the truth. They don’t understand the things that we base our faith and our subsequent actions on. They don’t understand that in the economy of God, everything is exactly upside down of the way the world and those who serve the gods of the world, perceive them. They CAN’T understand – and they don’t want to.

1 Corinthians 2:14,15 “But people who aren’t spiritual can’t receive these truths from God’s Spirit. It all sounds foolish to them and they can’t understand it, for only those who are spiritual can understand what the Spirit means. Those who are spiritual can evaluate all things, but they themselves cannot be evaluated by others."

1 Corinthians 3:18-21 “Let no man deceive himself. If any man among you thinks that he is wise in this age, he must become foolish, so that he may become wise. For the wisdom of this world is foolishness before God. For it is written, “He is THE ONE WHO CATCHES THE WISE IN THEIR CRAFTINESS”; and again, “THE LORD KNOWS THE REASONINGS of the wise, THAT THEY ARE USELESS.” So then let no one boast in men. For all things belong to you.”

They defend their hateful actions by quoting the few times in the Bible that Jesus or one of his disciples rebuked someone, as if they were on equal footing.

They’re not.

Here’s the difference between the trolls on this blog who call themselves Christians, and a true born-again Christian: a true Christian might find fault with how they perceive a ministry or the people in it – they might disagree even to the extent that they believe a rebuke is necessary – and they might carry out that rebuke if they have the authority (however dangerous that might be for themselves and those who believe they have a right understanding of everything, enough to judge and pass judgment on others) but they will not carry hate, hostility and guile around with them and wave it like a banner of righteousness. Nothing could be further from the truth.

Those who have the spirit of God within them, don’t want to carry hate and accusation around with them. They don't rejoice in uncovering anybody's sin for fear of their own pride and sin being exposed, and for the fear of God that will shine a very bright light on it when it comes their turn to stand before the One who can lay it all out as it is, not as the self-righteous believe it is.

If anything, they take their concerns to the Lord in prayer and leave it there. It is not theirs to judge and it is certainly not theirs to condemn. And it sinful to take on the role of the avenger.

Good answers. I think Bakker was very misguided, did he revert to "con" tactics to salvage what he worked so hard to build namely Heritage USA. Possibly, I don't know what his motivation was or what was in his mind as a consequence of severe stress, which I think was the factor that "put him over the edge" to commit crimes. Do I feel though that he is changed. I hope he is changed and he is sincere, that's the best that I can say "hope", cause I'm don't really know, sad to say.

Anonymous said...

I’ll tell you why we don’t answer your questions - we don't try to reason with the unregenerate, and we don't argue with foolish "Christians." We don’t answer your ‘questions’ because they’re not really questions, they’re accusations.

Your ‘questions’ are based on preconceived conclusions that are false and what you really want is to be able to argue and cast even more accusations and scorn in the form of ridicule toward us and what we believe.

You don’t ask real questions, and you don’t really want an answer. Your MO is to snare somebody so you can spew more reviling accusations at them. Your whole eye is evil and you see only evil... continually.

But you use words that sound reasonable to the untrained and the unregenerate. We won’t jump into that cesspool with you because we can see who you are and who is really behind your ‘questions.’

I will not address every lie that has been told on this blog, but I will use just one example of foolish people speaking foolish lies just because they want to, and because they can. They are bitter, angry and hateful against God - and it manifests against His people. They don’t believe in God and they don’t understand the Bible, nor do they want to understand it or the things that are from it. If they did understand, they would have no excuse for their sins, and they love their sins.

Here’s a lie that’s used to accuse Jim Bakker often on this blog: Jim Bakker preaches that the world is going to end, so why is he building? Jim Bakker does NOT teach that the world is going to end. I challenge anybody to prove that. And when you can’t prove it, will you then humble yourself and repent of your lies? Jim Bakker preaches that the world may end “as we know it” but he never says that the world will end.

Here’s the truth of the matter for anyone who really wants to understand: there’s going to be a great tribulation with times of famine and many disasters that the Lord is allowing to happen so that those who will repent… do repent. That’s what Jim Bakker is trying to get people ready for – bad times – so you don’t sell your soul for a bowl of stew like Esau did (look it up.)

After that time of tribulation with all of the signs we read about in Matthew 24, Revelation and other passages, all souls who are Jesus’ will be gathered unto Him, and then Jesus is coming back TO THIS EARTH to rule here for 1,000 years, WITH the saints.
This is known as the Millennial Reign. During that time, people will live in houses, they will work, and they will have families – all without the influence of Satan.

Until that time, God instructs us to ‘occupy’ or carry on the ministry because no man knows the day or the hour that Jesus will return and the Millennium begins. We know when it’s close – and we know that there will be terrible times before Jesus returns - but we don’t know exactly when Jesus will return. We go by the signs given in the Bible – and those signs say that it will be soon.

But the world does not end – in fact, the Bible says that the earth endures forever.

That's what Jim Bakker teaches.

And as far as those pharisaical 'Christians' who claim they come here to evangelize the unregenerate, you are beyond irrational. You don’t evangelize these kind of spirits by placating them and playing judge, jury and avenger to the born-again.

What you will do is bring down the judgment you tried to dish out to others upon your own head – so repent of your pride and stop kicking against the pricks. (Now watch some ignoramous try to explain that phrase.)

You're not qualified to judge and condemn Jim Bakker. You're an embarrassment to many real Christians who already know this.

Psalm 14:1
The fool says in his heart, “There is no God.” They are corrupt, they do abominable deeds, there is none who does good.

Titus 3:3 ESV
For we ourselves were once foolish, disobedient, led astray, slaves to various passions and pleasures, passing our days in malice and envy, hated by others and hating one another.

Proverbs 9:6-8 ESV
Leave your simple ways, and live, and walk in the way of insight.” Whoever corrects a scoffer gets himself abuse, and he who reproves a wicked man incurs injury. Do not reprove a scoffer, or he will hate you; reprove a wise man, and he will love you.

Proverbs 13:20 ESV
Whoever walks with the wise becomes wise, but the companion of fools will suffer harm.

To the Bakkerite:

I don't hate you. I hate how naive you are. You are complicit in helping get this con back into business. Most of you were the people who put him into business the first time. It's your beliefs that have ruined our society. Why would anyone look at your and your leaders behavior and want to be a christian? You attack Ron but he has much more integrity than you do. I respect a person who calls a spade a spade. You may not agree with how he does it, but at least he is not aiding and abetting a criminal! Do you think we should all follow you and your leaders immoral behavior? The church is to be an example of Christlike behavior. Your "Jesus" Jim seduced a young girl into fornicating with him with the slick lie "If you take care of the shepherd you take care of the sheep". My Jesus is the Good Shepherd who laid down his life for me. My Jesus didn't take his rightful authority over those who truly did "persecute" him. You people really believe you are persecuted! What an insult to the many being martyred all over the world for their faith! Aren't you all safe out there in your little commune? How can you be persecuted?! Why do you feel so threatened by us? Maybe the truth is threatening to you! When you have no leg to stand on just call names, make senseless arguments, excuse bad behavior. Yes, you all look and sound like your lord and savior Jim Bakker. Talk about jumping on a confused band wagon. Ron and many others on this blog have brought clarity to all of Jims lies and confusion. If you can't stand the heat, get out of the spotlight! Yes, I do believe the world would be a better place without gullible people like you and your false prophet leader leading many astray. Jim always targets the young and naive, the very old and senile, or the mentally handicapped. Why is there no middle age people of sound mind in his following? Some of us obey God and His Word when He tells us to be wise as serpents....that's why we aren't being taken in by the worst snake of all time!

Dear TBC:

You say we don't ask real questions? Have you read all the recent comments including the last 700 that appeared on the prior blog posting? I asked a very real "Appeal Question" that was simple and easy to respond to and not so much as one of the Bakker supporters have been able to answer it--not one!

Secondly, where is the "lost" one and a half million dollars that was raised for "Kevin's House"? Can you answer that in addition to my Appeal Question? I'd love for you do so and, in the event that you do not answer these two questions, I will assume you talk about things here on this blog that you don't know the first thing about in real life. Now, please answer my two questions and let's see how intelligent you really are.

Thank-you!

Wow. Just WOW, TBC. So now, because I've encouraged people to open their own Bible and TEST the truth of what bakker is preaching I am:

Fueled and corrupted by Satan

Bitter, angry and hostile to God

Judge, Jury and Avenger

I am an embarrassment to "real" Christians

I lie

I live in a cesspool

My whole eye is evil and all I see is evil

I don't have the spirit of the gospel

I am a master of lying

I have no ability to understand concepts

I am an unregenerate and foolish Christian.

I also like the way you put "Esau" in quotations, like I wouldn't be able to understand the reference.

Tammy Sue has gained a lot of weight and said it is her goal to lose 50 pounds. Jim is saying there is a new album he wants to record with her and have the Masters Media Choir back her up! On a prior show, he said there is a recording studio just down the road and he intimated he may be interested in purchasing it. He said there has been a musical "drought" at Morningside and he wants to correct that.

The Tammy Sue return visit was full of fake crying but no real tears were ever shown on camera.
He went on again about Jamie Charles' toys being sold at auction at Heritage USA but nowhere did he ever take responsibility for doing any wrong himself. He said, while he was caring for sick Tammy Faye, his ministry was stolen from him. He tried to evoke sympathy for himself but failed to admit any wrongdoing whatsoever. This is why people are so fed upon this, and other, blogs. Finally, he said there is "warfare" going on regarding him trying to buy Morningside from the Crawfords and even admitted that he had been shouting in a phone call that had occurred earlier that morning.

I was growing up in the world and knew about priviledge and how fortunate the wealthy were in life. Such is life, was my motto.

Bakker's comment on a musical "drought" at Morningside was ignorant and his own fault. he has, personally, fired almost all of the musicians there and then lied about the remaining ones there and now he is really being disrespectful to Kevin Shorey. Kelsey - you are a gossip and a talebearer. You don't follow biblical procedure for anything. In fact, I doubt seriously if you're a member of a church or under any other authority other than your own. If you do belong to a church, go ask your pastor how you would go about bringing charges against someone else who is born-again. You hold no position of authority, yet you want to throw your weight around on an athiest's blog. You would be discredited and thrown out of a biblical trial if you tried this in a real church. Men of God would rebuke you and set you down and you would be warned not to continue your gossip or they would disfellowship you. Oh yes, they would... and you would be publicly rebuked.

The last time Bakker fired the entire band, the ass-kissing bass player went back and begged him not to fire him. That is the only reason he has the gig now.

Remember the Satchmo, Willie Nelson, & Elvis impersonating keyboardist? He was great, wasn't he?

Then, they went to the Branson landing, where Little Lori now works, and found a keyboardist who plays outdoors (even in cold winter weather) and he lasted about 2 weeks!

Kool-Aid Kid said...

Tub's the keyboard player with the Moronside band is funny to watch and is probably the best at fake playing. The bass player is just a goofy guy and well, the electric guitar player is scary as all hell. The singer with the mile high hairdo and no talent is just a Sasha clone.
Maybe they should change their name to "The Moronside Drought".

More energy in the responding, but still no real answers, as Brother D. pointed out.

TBC said in one of the posts that our questions go unanswered because they are "based on preconceived conclusions that are false" - I don't understand that. That seems to me to just be an "easy out" of addressing anything.

I'll take just 2 long-standing questions as examples:

1. name one student who has gone on to gainful employment in the field. How is this based on anything but a desire to know if the school is producing graduates who actually get paying work?

2. was Jim Bakker framed, or is he repentant. This is based on things Jim Bakker has said HIMSELF at various times: he made "a" mistake, Man condemned him, prison was his personal desert given by God so he could study, his Ministry was stolen from him (suggesting a set-up)... so the question is based on the mixed bag of things that Bakker has said, and has nothing to do with what we do or do not think.

Now will anyone answer any of the questions?

World ending, world as we know it ending...are we splitting hairs now? Is the pool necessary for either? And hey, how about an expiration date on Jim's scary prophecies? Or should we all just be perpetually fearful while Jim Jong-Il cashes our checks and blasts his forehead with Botox?

By the way, why not just add your name "tbc" to the post instead of signing it at the end? I can walk you through the steps if you'd like.

Anonymous said...

Craig - free will was not designed to be independent of biblical authority. You're either under authority or you're a loose canon - and you can't have it both ways - not in the Kingdom.

And if you're under authority, you know full well that you can't bring a public accusation against someone else without going through proper authorities.

When you do bring an accusation before the world against a born-again Christian - you are out of order. You are nothing more than a gossip and a rebel to God's Word and God's Ways.

Anonymous said...

The sanctimonious Bakker fan at 4:35 has the nerve to lecture Kelsey about everything they are guilty of. There is not one person living at Bakker compound that has the right to call anyone out for gossip. If you read any of the blogs you will see them for who they are, mean, petty people who are deceived and deceiving. They even have gossiped about Tammy Faye in an ugly and viscous way. They name call and attack, but self righteously believe they are better christians than others who point out truth from the scriptures here on this blog. If this blog is only for the heathens why are they here? Their arrogance and self righteousness makes a person want to vomit. The last thing I would want is for unbelievers to think that followers of Christ are as nasty as they are. Again they think they are on the high road and being better than Thou It's ok for them to come here to this blog to "throw their weight around." My, my you are so much better than the people you are judging. How very christian of you to say that Kelsey would be thrown out of a biblical trial. It's you people out there at the Morningside cult that has no overseers. There is no church denomination that would want Jim and his ilk. That is why there is no accountability. Yes, I do believe that you have biblical trials, we've heard about the witch trials you have out there. It's because Jim and everything he stands for is the opposite of christianity that all the blogs are busy exposing him. How sad for all you Pharisees when the people you say aren't christians have more wisdom than you. No credible ministers would want anything to do with Jim. That's why you never see a christian with the caliber and respect of a Charles Stanley, James Dobson, Charles Swindoll, etc on Jims show. You won't find credible christians sitting under the false teaching Jim ruminates on day after day either!

You stated that no legitimate denomination would back Jim. You're wrong. All these men are legitimate and they all back Jim. I do not know what denomination Jimn's credentials are with - but I know who he hangs out with, and who he submits himself to.

You people, on the other hand, are loose canons and little anonymous big shots that think they can travel in Jim's circles. You can't... and you don't. He's out of your league and the only damage you can do to him is towards those who can't see through you. Most do.

Didn't see any videos of Billies birthday wishes at Jims grand 70th party, nor did I see any video from Billy at Jims 50th Anniversary. James Robinson, send me your money preacher, you have me laughing again! Politicians, sure they are all doing a great job in DC for us, they have a approval rating at around 20%. I am sure their approval rating is better than Jims though! When was Glen Beck on Jims show? Even if he was on Jims show he is Mormom, are you comparing Glen Beck to the men of God who are legitimate teachers of the gospel of Jesus Christ? I am not dissing Glen Beck, I actually like him. Glen says himself that he is no preacher! Decent preachers and teachers have no time for Jim, their silence and absence from anything Bakker is glaring.

Re: Condo of Tammy Sue

Bakker actually showed the exterior of the soon to be Tammy Sue condo twice today. It is owned by a couple who, for health reasons, are no longer able to travel to Morningside to use it anymore. It is blue in color and has a balcony overlooking the stage area of Jim's show. Jim said he HAND-PICKED the condo to be the one for Tammy Sue! I suspect the church is going to be issued an order:

"Find money to buy this condo for Tammy Sue and to give her some sort of salary every week (even though she may not even be in town) or all of your sorry asses will be fired!"

I would suspect Tammy Sue will be put on the payroll as a "Featured Vocalist" and, as long as she shows up there three to four times a year, will "earn" her paycheck and condo. Nice work if you can get it!

Tanya said...

5:13pm anon asked me if I was a Christian.

I'd appreciate some clarification from the question-asker.

In my comments, I have never questioned Jim Bakker's belief in God, or commented on my perception of him as a "good" or "bad" Christian. I have not commented on religion, scripture, my beliefs, or the beliefs of others who post here.

The reason I have not done any of the above is: that is not my point in being here.

My motivation to be here is that I see a convicted felon back on TV, using fear to sell garbage products, and rake in money - back to the same stuff he did before. Once I learned more about what he is currently doing, I added another thing: running and promoting a sham "school" that is not providing these students with a useful and relevant education.

Once you explain to me how my being a Christian relates to the above, I will be happy to consider answering.

Thank you!

Re: More on Tammy Sue

After patting himself on the back so much I was hoping he would not break his own arm, Jim proceeded to tell the story of how he had no money at all when he was released from prison. He went on about how he never took a royalty check from any of his albums or books while at Heritage USA. He said he simply gave those payments away to be used by the ministry. (Note: I have heard this story before. it is nothing new)

Regarding the royalties of any PTL albums:

a) Bakker does not know how to sing
b) Bakker does not know how to play any instrument and is not a musician.

Therefore, I am going to assume he means that he did not take a royalty check from any of Tammy Faye's albums.

However, he did hold up a framed photo of an album called "Sixteen" recorded by Tammy Sue. He stated that, for some reason, he decided to abandon his policy of not taking a royalty check and he decided, for that Tammy Sue album, to set it up so Tammy Sue would receive royalties from it. Tammy Sue said the album made 1.6 million dollars for the PTL club. So after he was released from prison, Bakker then said that, with no money to his name, his family lived off of the royalties from that Tammy Sue album! So the B.S. about not having any money upon being released from prision was quickly rectified by the royalties from his daughter's album.

Without any public accountability of the funds of PTL, one is forced to take Bakker's word for it as to not taking royalties on anything else, such as his books, etc.

Today, March 8, 2012 was the first time Tammy Sue was seen in public for eight years. The last time she was seen was during the very first year Bakker was in Branson broadcasting from the old restaurant the Crawfords had bought for him to use as a studio. The story has already been told that Tammy Sue and her girlfriend, Dana, got into a major fight with Lori Graham Bakker and she left outta there and did not return ever again. Until today, she had never before been inside of the Morningside building. If it is true what Bakker said about living off of the royalties of Tammy Sue's record album, you can only imagine that these funds were in the name of Tammy Sue and she, out of the goodness of her heart, gave them to her Dad and Lori so they would have something to live on. You can only imagine how Tammy Sue felt when the ghetto side of Lori reared its ugly head and caused the ghetto side of Tammy Sue to let Lori know exactly what she really thought of her.

I would like to say, as one who has been critical of what has appeared to be a drug-induced Lori Bakker in the past, that today Lori did not appear to be under the influence of anything. She even kept her sexual grunts and groans and moaning to a bare minimum and both women were very respectful to each other. Tammy Sue, to her credit, advised anyone to "Let it go!" if they are holding grudges against another family member.

I hope that Tammy Sue and Lori can put this behind them completely and never again have such a problem. I commend them both for what I witnessed today.

Jim, on the other hand, is already converting this experience to money and, no matter what happens in his life, will never lose that intense greed that will, undoubtedly, lock him away again--hopefully, for what will be the final time.

Why would food for health give extra food for free? They are sorry, whhyy? So I guess food for health is a charity and not a business, how nice of them. Also, why do they place such tiny amounts of of sealed slop in such large buckets?? They must be trying to make their product look larger. If ur preping, u need to conserve space! Finally, do we only eat one serving, come on. A bucket of slop would only last me week, especially if I been smoking pawt.:(:(

It is nice to see Bakker changing his ways to make us happy. We complained when Kevin left and he brought him back. We have been asking why Tammy Sue does not come back and the buys her a condo so that she will return. Now if he would only listen to us about Zach and dump his sorry ass. Jamie Charles seems like he has his life in order, I never see that guy doing anything with Jim on a professional level. The kids toys were taken because of what the old man did. I think they call that the sins of the father....

You might not believe this but I knew Tammy Sue would show up and become part of the scene. I am sure wherever she goes, when people find out that daddy is Bakker she must catch hell. At Morningside she will be welcomed and worshiped by all the old zombies from the PTL days. Look for her to put the squeeze on Bakker to bring her son into the forefront. Kevin was pushed out by Zach and now maybe it is his time to be pushed out

I would say that everyone who posts on this blog is against Bakker because of his cons. Then you have the folks that also question his use of the Bible. I have no idea why it matters if the posters are Christians, so called Christians or heathens.

Shakespeare's quote "all the world's a stage, and all the men and women merely players" rings true for the Frog and if he can make the audience pay so much the better. I mean, here's a guy that even sold a dvd of his kid's wedding and now he will be rubbing his little froggy hands together to sell an cd of another kid singing. I believe in his mind he calculates what life event is worth making a buck on during his tv show and what isn't. It's all about the money and he will exploit situations (9/11) and people without a care to accomplish it. Bakker is a psychopath that is skilled in the art of deception and manipulation.
Ron has always said that when the day comes that this creep is back in jail or changes his ways the Foodbucket will be gone but until that happens we will hopefully continue to comment on his slimy activities here.

TBC (and the other Anon poster who is potentially TBC):

You are filthy mouthed and nasty. You have failed to rebuke me in the biblical manner in which you claim I failed to do:

After some consideration, prayer and godly counsel, should you decide that God is burdening you to constructively rebuke a brother in Christ, the following seven Biblical principles should be incorporated into the process.
1) Make sure you are not being hypocritical. (Matt. 7:1-5; Rom. 14:13)
2) Describe the sinful behavior, without attacking the person. (Lev. 19:17-18)
3) Be specific in identifying the sin, avoiding generalizations. ( I Cor. 1:10-11; 5:1; 11:20-21)
4) Be clothed with humility of heart, raising the other person above you. (Phil. 2:1-3; II Cor. 10:1)
5) Be balanced, recognizing the positive traits and contributions of the person. ( Rev. 2:1-4)
6) Give the rebuke with a kind and gentle spirit of meekness. (I Cor. 4:14,16,21; Gal. 6:1; I Thes. 2:7,10-11)
7) Let the driving motivation of love be seen in the rebuke. (Heb. 12:6; Rev. 3:19; I Cor. 13:4-7)

Instead of commenting on my feelings about Jim Bakker's King David sermon, or debating Bakker's use of Noah's righteousness in regard to preparing for Revelation - you personally attack me and insinuate all sorts of filthy and disgusting things. You ought to be ashamed at yourself.

You said: "When you do bring an accusation before the world against a born-again Christian - you are out of order. You are nothing more than a gossip and a rebel to God's Word and God's Ways."

So what are YOU then?? You've accused me of all sorts of disgusting, vicious things. What have I accused Jim Bakker of? Selling garbage on the premise that you are disobeying His word if you don't. I have brought to light the way he twists scripture, in my opinion. Instead of rebuking me in love or teaching me the error of my thinking, you accuse me of being full of Satan. Are you kidding me???

Kelsey said...

Where is my gossip???? I posted very legitimate questions about Jim's sermons and the way he interprets scripture. Go back in my posts. Find my gossip. And while you're looking for my gossip, read and answer the questions about Noah's righteousness, Joseph's preparation, and King David that I have posted. If you know that I'm misguided, then tell me your point of view. But don't sit there and lecture me like I'm the Devil and call my faith into question. You've become exactly what mainstream Christians are afraid of: cruel, mean, angry, arrogant, hypocritical and full of condemnation.

You accuse me of practicing the law without the spirit of the law. In what way am I preaching the law? I've been preached to about my attitude by people at Morningside, yet no one will defend the flaws in Bakker's sermons.

I'm done. I think you are dangerous and one post followed by another of harassing me is terrifying. You come across as a vindictive religious zealot full of rage.

Is this not gossip and slander, TBC?? You wrote: "In fact, I doubt seriously if you're a member of a church or under any other authority other than your own." and "Men of God would rebuke you and set you down and you would be warned not to continue your gossip or they would disfellowship you. Oh yes, they would... and you would be publicly rebuked."

I am a member of a church. I have served two terms on our Preschool Board. I am an alto in the choir. I participate in weekly Bible Studies. I am the children's music director. I cook for our Lenten soup dinners. I am on the Helping Hands committee. I don't have to throw around what church/denomination I belong to, or what the fruits of my faith are, because I'm not trying to convert anyone here. But since you so WRONGLY ACCUSED me of having no faith, being seperated from God, and not attending a church, I think I ought to set you straight. Everything I do within my church family is a gift to God, because we cannot earn Heaven. It is my thankful offering for His free gift of salvation. But that means nothing to you, because I've committed the unpardonable sin of pointing out the way I think that Jim Bakker MISUSES scripture to sell merchandise.

Do you honestly think that an honest Pastor would watch the Jim Bakker Show and chastise me for my questions?? Are you serious?? Do you want to take away the ability of God's children to discern good teachers, to test scripture with scripture in context, and ask questions?? Really???

I should have known better than to bring forth any sort of religious debate because I didn't get any satisfying back-and-forth about the scripture from anyone in Jim's ministry. It would have been enlightening to hear the answers to my questions about Jim's sermons from people in his ministry. But you took the opportunity to run me over. You do not have the spirit of a teacher.

BTW: I belong to a mainstream Protestant denomination in which we don't speak in tongues or handle snakes.

TBC,

You are an excellent example of the darkside of Morningside. It took you some time to reveal yourself but here you are now. You hold no power over anyone, only in your sick and twisted mind.

Kelsey said...

TBC - you have given me the impression that a Christian should not be reading or posting on an atheist's blog. Should I then assume that a Christian is not supposed to interact with the unchurched? That doesn't make any sense.

I also am under the impression from your posts that I am not allowed to question someone's interpretation of scripture. Is that correct?

So you are upset that I found a place where I can speak to people in your ministry about what their Pastor preaches, but I'm not allowed to participate here because it's owned by an atheist and because I used the Bible to ask questions about a sermon, I am a renegade in God's Kingdom that should be rebuked??? It makes no sense to me.

You were correct when you said that we should take these things that bother us to God in prayer. But I don't see the harm in asking questions. Why are you so offended by that?

If you think my interpretation of Jim Bakker's sermon is wrong, why won't you tell me why? You spent a lot of time typing up miserable, horrible things about a Sister in Christ, assuming the nastiest things about me and linking me with the Devil himself. But you never explained where I was mistaken.

My comments have been treated with more respect by people whose religious affiliation is unknown to me. You, someone I can tell knows his "stuff" has been absolutely horrible.

If I took this to my Pastors, I think they would be horrified by the language used here, but I don't think they would be horrified by anything that *I* wrote. I think they would appreciate my efforts to clarify (what I believe) is a misuse of scripture for earthly gain. I think they would tell me to come to them to test what's right, instead of expecting something from an anonymous person online.

I think they would be disappointed in some of the terms I have used. I think they would expect me to speak the truth in love rather than in haste and irritation. I think they would ask me to refocus my energy on studying God's Word for myself, and to keep my hands busy in our own ministry. Would they be proud of my effort here? Probably not. It's a waste of my time. Would they rebuke me, hold some sort of Biblical trial and condemn me? Would they raise me up like a woman to be stoned in front of the congregation and rebuke me for questioning the preaching of a televangelist?? Are you kidding me????

I think it is very disrespectful of you to make the horrible accusations about me as you have, and then refuse to "entertain MY drama."

Excellent points, then why do you throw stones at others?

Better than telling your pastor about this blog: why don't you just send him a link and let him read through the filth? If you are truly under authority, you should do this.

You can look for evil, or you can look for good, Kelsey. You assume the worst, be hyper-critical, and judge, or you can extend grace as one who needs grace.

Your decision.

@tbs. Better yet, could you post the morningside church charter, beliefs, and affiliations? I believe Kelsey would like her pastor to have a look at those while she's there. Probably should include who ordained jim and what "authority" they had to do so while you're at it. I already know what her pastor's reaction will be and I'm no prophet (or profit in Jim's case).

Kelsey said...

You know - for all you know, TBC, I could have been a soul in need of the truth about the Millenium, and you could have shown me the error of my thinking, and you could have developed a conversation with me, assuming I was lost and couldn't see the truth - and you might have had an entire family converted to be a supporter of your ministry. But I guess you wouldn't want someone like me? And you don't want these "atheists" either?

I can admit where I've gone astray here. Can you?

Kelsey said...

Why do I throw stones? Have you not thrown stones? We are imperfect people living in an imperfect world. Go back and read my posts only. What stones have I thrown other than to question the context of scripture in Jim Bakker's preaching?

I don't understand your definition of "under authority"(?)

And also, how can you write this to me after all the nasty things you wrote about me. YOU TOLD ME I WAS FULL OF SATAN!!!!

You said: "You can look for evil, or you can look for good, Kelsey. You assume the worst, be hyper-critical, and judge, or you can extend grace as one who needs grace."

Kelsey said...

You know, TBC, our church holds some very conservative views. If you were my visitor, and after the sermon you said, "I don't understand how your pastor comes up with this view on (_________). I'm pretty offended by that. I feel like he took that verse in Timothy way out of context. What did he mean by that? And Kelsey, I'm worried because your pastor didn't seem to have the story of King David straight - and that's a pretty well known story. What are his credentials?"

If you said that to me, as a visitor to our ministry, do you think I should treat your questions with the same nastiness that you've treated mine?? Wouldn't the burden be on me to answer those questions, to have an open Bible discussion? Or should I tell you that to question a born again Christian is tantamount to fellowship with the Devil?

What if the person I was teaching was using crude language or coarse jokes - how does that change the scenario?

I just don't understand where you are coming from at all.

Anonymous said...

Kelsey,

More drama.

If you don't understand 'under authority,' then you need to ask your pastor about that as well.

You also need to go back and read my posts. I addressed the Christians, and I addressed the heathens. You might need to understand to whom and about whom I was speaking.

You can't wallow in a cesspool like this and then claim your dignity. If you lay with dogs, you smell like them too.

Frankly, I don't know how you could tolerate the garbage here in your spirit, or why you would want to.

You may not like Jim Bakker, but you need to take your concerns to someone who can advise you how to handle them in a Godly manner. What you have effectively done is accused Jim Bakker of mishandling scripture for worldly gain. That's a serious charge, don't minimize it. Accusing Jim or anybody else in a public forum wrought with antichrist spirits is not the place you need to be.

Again, ask your pastor and give him this link. If he gives you his blessing, I'll have nothing more to say to you.

Hi Kelsey!

Will you please ask TBC, who read my two questions posted here, why they are choosing to ignore them and simply pretend like they are not even there? Maybe if you ask him to answer them it will do better than if I do because, for some strange reason (for example, lack of logic), he/she is unable to answer my questions!

Also, the very things that TBC is telling you not to do are the exact same things that Bakker, himself, preaches against! How do I know this? I know this because I heard Bakker preaching against the exact same arguments put forth here by TBC just a few days ago. Bakker, when preaching on his show just the other day, went out into the audience and had this to say. He said to his people that he wanted them to imagine they were driving a certain make and model of car, such as a Chevy, Ford, or Mercedes and that they took their car to the dealer to be repaired. Then, after the car was correctly repaired and they were back driving the car again, all of a sudden someone in their church said:

"STOP! Don't drive that car anymore!"

And then the car's owner asked that person why they should stop driving their car and that person said they should stop driving their car because an atheist worked on it. Bakker then said that would be the stupidest thing you could ever do. He said just because an atheist fixed your car is no reason for you not to drive it and that nowhere in the Bible does it say a Christian should not be in the presence of a non-believer. In fact, just the opposite is true! So, while you are arguing with this fool, remember he is going against the teachings of his very own cult leader and hero!

And now, once again Kelsey, see if you can get this Biblical scholar to answer my two questions and let's hear more of his divine wisdom! Good luck!

Brother Dortch said...

Oh and one more think, Kelsey:

Will you please ask this genius also this question for me and the rest of us here on this blog. I would gladly do it myself but he ignores my postings as if they do not exist. The question is this:

What does the purchase of a 23 foot pleasure craft boat, bought with church money, have to do with preaching the word of the gospel of Jesus Christ?

Thanks Kelsey!

To the recent defenders of Jim Bakker on this site:

Do you know what Jesus said about lies? He said that lies come directly from the devil (John 8:44).

I am an ordained minister with a degree from an accredited Bible college. I have been on national Christian TV in the past as a guest.

I am not making any of this up because I know that to lie is to deeply offend God and the habit of it can ultimately send a person to hell.

I watch Christian TV these days and cringe, because most of what I see is a black mark on true Biblical Christianity.

There have been many lies told on the Jim Bakker show. On one occasion, his wife told of meeting someone in a pharmacy and Jim Bakker immediately "corrected" her and told her that the meeting was in a nail technician shop. His wife look perplexed, but went on and told the story anyway.

Many people posting on here have cited lies connected with this "ministry" that they know of first-hand - plus cite various incidents of it on the TV show.

Tell me, Bakker backers? In your Bible, does it say that God approves of Christian ministers telling lies?

Kelsey,

God is not the author of confusion, but of peace. 1 Cor 14:33

All anyone gets from the Bakkers supporters is confusion. These are the same people who look for demons under every rock, and witches in their midst.

Kelsey, The Bakker supporters have challenged you to take this blog to your pastor. Does that mean that their pastor approves of their conduct on this blog?! Name calling and attacking those who disagree with you is not the example Jesus set for his followers. A person would be remiss to not ask who is their God, and what bible are they reading!

It doesn't matter what their church beliefs, charters, or affiliations are. They don't speak the speak, or walk the walk. Their words sound good but they don't put any of it into practical application.

2 Peter 2: 1-3 Peters warning to the church in the last days:

Just as there were false teachers in Israel, there will be false teachers among you. They will cleverly teach destructive heresies. Many will follow their their evil teachings and shameful immorality. And because of these teachers, the way of the truth will be slandered. In their greed they will make up clever lies to get hold of your money. But God condemned them long ago, and their destruction will not be delayed.

My Ryrie note on the above verse says: The saddest effect of false teaching is the way of the truth will be slandered by a watching world. By their immoral and greedy conduct false teachers bring shame on Christ.

Congratulations Bakker believers it couldn't be more clear who you are and what your end will be! I urge you to repent and turn from all this evil. If you are true believers than return to the Lord and quit bringing shame to Christ. Start being zealous for God's teachings and not Jims!

And the exact minute so much as one of you Bakker supporters can tell me what using church money, which is largely sent in by elderly people on a fixed income who are told on TV to send in money to do God's work, has to do with spreading the gospel of Jesus Christ by the purchase of a 23 foot family pleasure craft boat costing multiple thousands of dollars, then I am here and am willing to listen to you.

Furthermore, I would also like to know how spending additional multiple thousands of dollars more to pay rent to dry dock this boat indoors during the winter, and even more money for repairs, maintainance, and thousands more on boat fuel (which can amount to hundreds of dollars in only one full day of use) has anything to do whatsoever with spreading the gospel of Jesus Christ then please let me know now.

If I am a Pastor and my hobby is skeet shooting, camping, and hunting, should the church buy my camouflage clothing, camping supplies, and guns and ammo too?
If I am a Pastor and my hobby is antique automobiles, should my church buy me a Model A Ford?

If your name is Jim Bakker the answer to the last question is yes! Why? Because he said so! The mall at Heritage USA contained antique cars and now Bakker is on TV saying he wants to use church funds to place a Model A Ford on Grace Street at Morningside!

If you belive this is doing God's work you are mentally deficient. Shame on you!

Phew!

There for awhile it looked like this blog was deteriorating into a Game of Bible Verse Poker:

Oh yeah? I'll see you're stinkin' Bible verse and raise you THESE Bible verses!

Just about lost me, there, kiddos.

What a shocker! Shorty after Jimbo "prophesizes" that Tammy Sue would come to the Morningside compound and sing again, she shows up out of the blue?? She has no money, no husband now, and needs a place to stay so what a coincidence that Lori was out of town the few days prior. I dont suppose she was picking her up do you?? She looked awful so maybe Jimbo will force her on the food for health diet. You mindless bobbleheads need to open you eyes and realize whats going on!

Brother Dortch said...

Now let me say this to all of you. I promise you if TBC's brother or son happened to be named, Kevin Whittum, this bullshit you are reading here now would never have happened in the first place and it would quickly be replaced with the truth, the whole truth, and nothing but the truth, so help him God!

Kool-Aid Kid said...

I caught that as well Grandma Maxine. Jim's Moronside is all staged and fake.

Answer the questions, TBC!!!

To all the Foodbucket Fans, TBC is using a classic argumentative technique to undermine the rational people who simply want answers to the questions Ron and Brother Dortch have posted ad nauseum.

From now on, no matter what these Jim BS zombies write, if there are no answers to the questions, EVERY response should be, "Answer the questions, zombies!"

Why engage them when they won't answer the questions???

I recommend using the argument technique called the Norwegian Ice Treatment -- no communication unless the questions are answered.

I'll bet No Nonsense Norski knows about that one. :)

Tammy Sue does look bad. She has let herself go terribly. Prior to coming to Morningside yesterday, her and Jim had a one-hour phone conversation last week in which Tammy Sue told Jim that she had assembled enough songs to record another album. Then, after that conversation, Grandson James and Lori & Char Graham worked together to surprise Jim.

Call me a fool if you want to, but something tells me that Jim's one-hour phone conversation with Tammy Sue and Jim suddenly receiving a startling prophesy, that Tammy Sue would sing again and visit Morningside, might possibly be related!

Hey Grandma Maxine....... Never mind about us, what about your own camp. You don't even know what your own people are up to, case in point Joe C. Worry about your own house before sticking your noise in other places.. Can I get a "right on' from you on that one??

In case you're keeping score at home:

That's THREE questions put forth for answering and ZERO answers received!

I'll let you know if any of these figures would happen to change.

Brother Dortch said...

Also, I may be dumb and stupid. Please correct me if you think I am speaking out of turn BUT...

It is a known fact that Tammy Sue collects royalties from a record album she recorded at PTL when she was only sixteen years old.

Now, it just may happen to be, quite possibly, with a larger likihood of being true than being untrue, that Tammy Sue could, quite possibly, welcome the thought of collecting additional royalties from another brand new song album,

and then another album,

and then another album,

and then another album,

and then another album,

all of which would provide royalties for the rest of her life and then be able to be willed to her children after she dies.

You don't think this possibility has entered the mindset of Tammy Sue these days, do you? Why, surely not!

I have never commented here, before, and although I don't think that the mocking, and making fun of the people in the audience of the Jim Bakker Show is the right thing to do, I can understand wanting to expose anything dishonest, if indeed, it is.

For the benefit of anyone who might be interested, I am a born again Christian, and have been for many, many years. I think I am qualified, enough, to determine when I see something which does not measure up to how a person may be defining himself, and since I began watching the JB Show, I've seen, and heard, a few things which caused a feeling of dismay.

I won't even go into how scripture is being interpreted, or even the motive, for whatever purpose, but the following is one example of what I spoke of as having caused me to be dismayed, especially in light of how Christians are viewed by others:

On a recent show, he showed a Norman Rockwell painting that he had bought at a flea market, or garage sale. I think he, originally, was using it as a visual aid, to illustrate being able to recognize, or identify, a particular trait, and he spoke of the particular brush strokes in the painting, and he had mentioned something about Lori, and hearing her voice, and immediately recognizing it, apart from anyone else's. So, that is what showing the painting was all about, I suppose.

All of that was fine, but it is what else he said that really got my attention, and made me think that he was not setting a very good example of what he proclaims himself to be, which is an honest, ethical, man.

He said that the painting did not look like it did when he first saw it. He said that it was in a beat up, old frame, and that he'd had it reframed, He then went on to say, that even though it was in that condition, he had still recognized that it was an original, because he recognized the signature, way down at the bottom of the painting, and that on the back were numbers which certified it to be an original Norman Rockwell painting. He said that it was worth a lot of money.

Now, this was the clincher:

He said that he had offered the lady ten dollars, but he should have offered only five, because she would have taken it! He said that he knew what it was, but that she didn't!

I was shocked, to say the least. I sat there thinking that people usually sold stuff at those places because they need the money! If he knew it was an original Norman Rockwell, and worth a lot of money, why would he not have mentioned it to the woman, or at least offered her more money, rather than lamenting the fact that he had paid her five dollars more than what she would have accepted?

Maybe that seems like such a small thing, but to me it was very significant, mainly because of the example it set, coming from someone who is supposed to be beyond reproach when it comes to matters of honesty, and integrity.

Perhaps, he didn't mean it to come across that way, but it did.

I will not comment here, again, even to reply to any replies to this comment. I will say, though, that I honestly do not understand why, or how, so many cannot discern for themselves, when things do not seem right.

I believe that he loves God, but sometimes, it does seem that the show is more about selling products, even though they are called 'love gifts,' and more time devoted to that, than actual preaching, or teaching. Of course, I have no idea what goes on behind the scenes, or anything else he may be involved in.

I am not here to judge him, or anyone, as to their relationship with God, because only God knows the heart of a man. He is the ultimate Judge of us all, and what we do in this life, we will have to give account of, to Him.

It is for this reason that we should be very circumspect in all of our dealings with others.

You are not dumb and stupid Brother Dortch!

The opening song for Jim's tv show should be Pink Floyd's "Money". It's all about the money and Tammy Sue will get caught up in it too.

Don T. said...

I caught that too. I dismissed it at the time as maybe myself being a little too pendant. I see you noticed it also. A sort of "faux pas perhaps.

Jim Bakker at the flea market:

"Hello Ma'am. You know that Norman Rockwell painting you are only asking $10 for? It is a limited edition and is worth a fortune. You might want to keep that and find out what it is worth before you sell it so cheap. I'd sure hate to see a nice lady like you taken for a ride by ignorance!"

ARE YOU KIDDING ME?

TAKING IGNORANT PEOPLE FOR A RIDE IS HOW THE GUY MAKES A LIVING--THE DUMBER THE BETTER!

I don't think it is...he can barely read the script cards on air! and yes I agree you will not get an answer to your three questions...What is cool though is that this blog has really connected with all of us that has known he has been a crook for years. It has also really has the attention of the lemmings at the bakker compound!

I'm stuck with re-runs of the Harbinger shows in my area. Guess the Tammy Sue shows will be on their way. Shame to see another family member jump on the gravy-train, if that is what's going on.

If Tammy Sue cut so many albums at the time why is it she is crying poverty now? Don't these folks know the meaning of a modest life style? Why do they (and a lot of these tele-evangelist) feel the need to live so high on the hog? I'm tired of these phoney evangelist and their opulent lifestyles.

The Norman Rockwell Painting story doesn't surprise me at all. Jim can wear his I care caps, and his Jesus t-shirts all he wants, some of us can't be fooled. Actions speak louder than words. Amazing that Bakkers people sit in the audience, hear this kind of stuff, and don't have a problem with it. There is nothing but cold venom running through Jim's reptilian body. Only the sickest of people take advantage of the elderly and the needy.

Jim and his kind of people are the reason I want nothing to do with christians.

Anonymous said...

Where did all the people defending Jim go? They have remained pretty moot on the Normal Rockwell painting fiasco. They can't defend such reprehensible behavior so they say nothing. Just like they don't answer Brother Dortches questions. Jims followers are as crafty as their leader.

My Catholic sister in law gets mad at what she calls the smorgasbord christians of her faith. She hates how they pick and choose what laws of the church they want to obey. Guess that goes for Jim and his born again, tongue talking, followers. They make the rules, and then pick and choose which ones they want to follow from their smorgasbord christianity.

Does anyone know what kind of christians Bakker and his followers are? What do they call themselves? Are they Baptists, Assembly of God, Mormoms?????

TBC, have you still not figured out the name thing? I can show you how, just take my hand and I will walk you through the steps...

Dismayed and Don T, thank you for taking the time to comment. Hopefully you can see through some of my joking to get to the heart of my posts. Within the satire, there is a very robust kernel of truth concerning Jim Bakker which I always strive to make evident for my readers.

For any newcomers here, if you haven't read some of the older posts, check them out. You will see Jim calling his students "prophets", then telling us that helping them will reap us a prophets reward. You will see Jim fake crying with no tears. You will see him scare us with tales of corn shortages and mudslides, then immediately begin a sales pitch. My jokes will be interspersed, but you will see these very real things that Jim Bakker has said and done, and you can decide for yourself if he is an honest man or not.

Hey why is it that every time TBC posted a verse, I read it as implicating himself? And hang in there Kelsey, the truth is on your side. Jim Bakker cultists react very aggressively to anyone who criticizes their idol, as you can see. That interaction had nothing to do with TBC defending the gospel, but it had everything to do with defending Jim Bakker. Disgusting.

Sorry for the delay in getting the new post up. I don't like to speak about my posts before press time, but this one is turning out fantastic and I'm very pleased so far. My work schedule at the moment is very heavy, but I'm trying to find time to finish it so I can post middle of next week or so.

Craig I'll try and get more videos up on YouTube for you to watch as a companion to my blog posts. I'd hate for you to miss something spectacular!

Hi 8:20,
No organized Christian faith has claimed bakker. Even a bakker backer on a comment last night said he didn't know who ordained him. Brother Dortch said that it is possible for pentecostals to ordain each other. I think something like that is probably what bakker has done. Morningside is a cult with bakker the sole authority without legitimate credentials. Shades of Waco.

Brother Dortch said...

Please be advised that, during the PTL days, Bakker was an ordained Assembly of God Pastor but he was thrown out of the faith after getting arrested. The AOG leadership put forth a ladder of redemption, in which once every step was completed, Bakker could have re-entered the faith as an AOG member again and, if he wanted to again be an AOG Pastor, more steps would have had to have been completed and he would then have been re-installed as an AOG Pastor. Bakker thumbed his nose at the entire process and declined to participate in any of the steps and simply found another hillbilly minister to ordain him in a faith that nobody knows anything about. Also, he is now supposedly advertising to his prospective "students" that he will ordain them if they meet his (Bakker's) qualifications after attending the "college". Yes, it is true. In the Pentecostal faith, the "Good Ole' Boys" simply ordain each other. They are one of the very few religions in the USA that requires absolutely no seminary or formal training whatsoever. Bakker had failed two grades in school prior to high school and then dropped out of Bible college after leaving high school.

Brother Dortch said...

To further explain what I said above, let me tell you a true story that actually happened to me in my life. This is 100% accurate and factual as I knew the parties involved myself.

A gentleman in our city was a hillbilly Pastor and suffered from bad health for years. He had a church for many years that he owned outright. His wife, who I will call "Betty" (not her real name) was never a Pastor or teacher in this church and only served as simply being the Pastor's wife in the loosely knit church organization. Much like Bakker's church, the congregation was largely uneducated and poor and would believe anything the Pastor told them. He commonly would bring in other jailbirds, who called themselves "Pastors" and some of these guest pastors actually went to prison for scamming the elderly exactly like Bakker did.

Well, eventually the Pastor passed away and his church was left high and dry with no Pastor at all. The family didn't want to lose the church and did not want any of the late Pastor's friends to take it over as they were all cheats and con artists and felons. Within TWO-WEEKS "Betty" was named the new "Pastor" after calling a friend of her late husband on the phone and simply being ordained by him and given a certificate that one can easily print out on any personal computer. It is as simple as that--all depends on who you know!

Tanya said...

Interesting information, Brother Dortch.

I know it won't happen, but wouldn't it be nice if the Bakker-backers would comment on your 10:48pm post. What do you think, people, about an ex-Pastor who gets out of jail and decides to just not bother with the redemption pathway set out for him? And then goes somewhere else and starts his scamming all over again?

While we're at it, maybe someone could explain this mysterious "doctorate" that Jim claims he has. That's a bonus question, just for fun.

I have a prophesy: we will get no answers to the questions that are hanging out there... those poor, lonely questions, just waiting for some kind person to answer them.
